Dearly Beloved Saint,
The following is an attempt to answer another salient question that some have asked concerning this blessed subject.
Question 2:
What is the word of righteousness and why should believers who truly seek to know God – embrace it?
Answer:
The word of righteousness is a biblical doctrine that should be consistently communicated to a believer who has partaken of the foundational aspect of faith or who has been exposed to the elementary principles of milk (basic) faith (Eph. 1:15-17/Isa. 28:9, Heb. 6:1c-2).
It is the next word meant for those who have selflessly received and lived by what is fondly called The Word of Faith; who are meant to be exposed to the ministrations on “The Faith of The Son of God”- and thereby live in a different way than they previously did – I.e. with God’s power (Isa. 28:9, Gal. 2:20).
This word is also called “the meat of the word” because it it contains the strength and soul nutrients for a victorious walk above this world (1Cor. 3:1-2b, 2Pet. 1:5-7, 1Jn. 5:4). It is a doctrine (teaching) that enlightens and empowers its hearers on the right and only approved way to live in the flesh (Rom. 1:16-17, Jn. 1:11-12).
All believers received God’s righteousness in their human spirit at new birth and their spirit became a new man in Christ (2Cor. 5:17). But our soul remained old and corrupt in nature, and lacked the newness of life (Christ) needed to relate with or respond to God (Eph. 4:22, Rom. 6:4, Col. 1:28). So our soul needed God’s righteousness also imparted to it; it needed access into the economy of the new man (Christ), and this what the teachings around the word of righteousness imparts.
As a believer acquires the life or new nature/mind called Christ, he can then begin the actual learning of God and journey to a place where he can receive the fullness of the promise/inheritance of the New Testament – i.e. eternal life (1Cor. 2:16, Heb. 11:39c-40, 1Jn. 2:25).
Blessings!
