Dearly Beloved,
The following is another attempt to use the goggle of Faith to weigh various inspired thoughts, on another blessed day.
1. The Lord is presently raising an army on earth! The sound doctrine of His faith is their watchword; it is the sound or alarm that gathers them (Eph. 4:13a). They anticipate Spirit-supervised sufferings or experiences where faith comes first, because it is the secret by which they cease from sin in their flesh (1Pet. 4:1). Their weaknesses and past mistakes helps them place a higher premium on the more excellent and priestly ministry of Christ Jesus (Heb 2: 17-18).
2. From the upbringing of children, most parents instill in them a culture of hustling; a restless lifestyle that witnesses against the life of grace. Children grow up hearing of complaints that bother on the lack or need for more money and not for more of God, and hear murmurings of the poor governance of their day but learn nothing about the government of the Kingdom! They are raised to hope in the comfort or glory that education would ultimately bring their way, while remaining spiritually uneducated! They are raised to become hustlers and chasers of this world who are hardly ever exposed to the faith that Christ left the throne of God to author and authorize for use by all including teenagers. But that order is finally changing (Psa. 18:35, 43, 144:14, Luk. 21:34).
3. Most parents labour for years or decades, to ensure their children have their own fair share of the world or of its corruptible glory; to ensure they realize the hope of this world; the hope of becoming men of renown who made a name for themselves; even those who towered high in the offerings of civilizations that came after the fall of man. But hardly do parents ever labour to give their children an incorruptible inheritance, the absence of which makes many children to experience soul sicknesses like depression, and to hustle more than they did. The only enduring legacy or inheritance that a wise parent can leave for their children, is the Gospel of Christ; the power of God that can bring a soul to God (Prov. 13:22/22:6, 1Pet. 1:4).
4. This world remains the most friendly enemy of man because of what men seek! It has been designed and positioned to ensure that we build every other thing but our soul, and become establishment in various endeavours of life save in the faith Christ authored, which is meant to ultimately enable us look for the glorious appearing of our great God and saviour Jesus Christ (Jam. 4:4, Tit. 2:13/Jn. 14:23). The world is an enforcer of a lifestyle that make men to live by what they naturally see, and judge with their academic minds, a way of life put in place by a king called sin. So, generations of believers continue in the vicious circle of living by sight but not by faith, and never really get to live in God’s sight (Isa. 11:3b, 2Cor. 5:7, Gal. 3:11).
5. The Lord never commands an unbeliever not to love the world, because a covenant to that effect is strongly in place (Isa. 28:15, Jn. 3:16). He simply expects them to believe that He is Lord and thereby receive the free gift of God’s righteousness which gives them a legal standing to know Him in whom they have believed (Rom. 10:9-10, 2Tim. 2:12). But afterwards, He expects them to use the milk faith in the gospel and thereby develop the capacity to embrace the meat (faith) of the gospel (i.e. Christ); so Christ – through His Faith – can drive out the world from their souls and find His resting place there (Isa. 28:9, 1Cor. 3:1-2, Eph. 3:17, Jn. 14:21).
6. God is asking us to lay down/surrender a life (sin) that enslaves its carriers, so we can seek and receive a life we never merited; the life constituted in the Son of God (1Jn. 5:11). Our life (sin) revolves around our relationships: our use of time/resources and our pursuits around this present life. God’s life – as seen in the daily life of Jesus – could be learnt/found in how Jesus handled relationships, used time/resources; how He brought truth into His flesh/daily conversations. Our relationships, use of resources and our plans are were sin hides and breeds. By locating what Christ’s faith says about all these, sin can be uncovered, rendered naked and powerless.
7. Things or seasons that are materially/financially rewarding have a way of unlocking our strength, passion, and commitment, but they aren’t necessarily or always instrumental in the Lord’s hand to reveal some unknown aspects of our hearts to us, so we can see ourselves like the Lord does (Deu. 8:1-5). The Lord, therefore, has to shop for occasions where He would expect and give us the opportunity to align our words/songs with deeds, and show Him how low and far we can go in the pursuit of His life, or if truly His faith and love is as precious as silver snd gold is to men (2Cor. 5:15).
8. There are alternatives that we forgo and prices we pay while in pursuit of earthly professions, which includes inconveniences felt by our preferred sleep structure, our finances and relationships. When that profession has to do with the Faith (in Christ Jesus), it can’t/shouldn’t be less; yet, it always is! The power of the gospel can’t really be accessed if it doesn’t come at an opportunity cost to our: close relationships, finances or to our plans, purpose and pursuits around this present life. We can’t carry/inherit the gospel, without paying prices by God’s grace. It must come first; lest we comes last (Matt. 16:24, Luk. 9:23, 1 Cor. 9:24-27, 2 Tim.2.1-5).
