Dearly Beloved,

The following is another attempt to use the goggle of Faith to weigh and filter thoughts from various conversations under the sun, on another blessed day.

1. When the actual pursuit of a man in life is monetary, he will not only love it but would love the things it can do and thereby quietly or secretly adore and worship it. But when the primary life pursuit of a soul is God’s life, a believer would have to leverage the divine power that flows from the Faith Christ authored, to handle money as a servant and gradually end its reign as a master. No man can resist the pull or love of money, who hasn’t tenaciously followed after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience and meekness (1Tim. 6:10-12).

2. When the Lord hints us of His preferred job description for us; and how and where He wants us to serve Him, our natural minds reacts on many occasions, especially when such a responsibility can be likened to that of a back office staff and not that of a front office/customer facing duty. When our quest to be used by the Lord is primarily in ways obvious to men and is higher than our yearning to be saved in our soul, then there is the presence of youthful lust in us; our eyes are on things other than Christ or His commandments, and we’ll remain limited from learning to be selfless, meek and lowly at heart (Matt. 11:28-30).

3. No one can know whom they really are, as long as the Lord has never been able to reveal how/why their hearts are different from His, or how their thoughts (unrighteousness) and ways (wickedness/twistedness) are unlike His (Isa. 55:7-8, 2Cor. 7:1, 1Pet. 2:1). The Lord has to imprison or guide us, with His commandments, into seasons where He can periodically reveal to us the hidden infirmities of our soul, so we can keep renouncing such hidden things of dishonesty, until we become professionals in the art of thorough repentance (2Cor. 4:2a/7:10-11).

4. Most parents give their best to their children in hope that it will enable them attain a bright future. The Lord gives His best to every potential child of His that would make it into His kingdom, by taking them through seasons of chastening, where He weeds and/or prunes them of every nature that is alien to His. His bright future for us is to christen us with His name and ultimately with that of His Father; even with the name/nature of God – a new name that would guarantee our reigning with His life – in time and eternity (Heb. 12:8-11, Acts 26:18e, Rev. 3:8e/12).

5. There is a grace that men who are likened to the flower of the field do have, that enables many to build or prosper outwardly without having any inward prosperity or building in their souls; and Cain used this kind of grace to build a city, after departing from God’s presence (Jam.1:11, Gen. 4:16-17). There is a grace that God ordained men to firstly build with inwardly, even the word of His grace – that prepares us for our first inheritance, even Christ (Acts 20:32f, 26:18e, Col. 1:27b). Only by this grace can that nature in us that we have no control of, be tamed, regulated and subdued. It teaches us to deny many things so we can acquire the growth, stature and wisdom to faithfully handle things of this present world. (Jam. 1:11, Acts 20:32, Tit. 2:11-12).

6. The first “grace” that almost every man partook of by his religious upbringing and by a sensual exposure to life, was from the world; even one that thrives on human strength and helps its subscribers to rise to preeminence and flourish like the flower of the field which today is but tomorrow perishes (Ps. 103:15-16, Jer. 17:5). To heal us of this carnal state called flesh, Christ Jesus had to provide/become a balm for our souls by bringing man the grace of Faith (Christ) and of Salvation (God), which were His twin source of strength during the first 30 years and last 3 years of His walk on earth. By this, He stood and ultimately sat. By it, He overcome the world and ultimately the wicked one (Rom. 5:2, Tit. 2:11:13, Jn. 1:16, 1Pet. 1:14).
