Dearly Beloved,
The following is another attempt to use the goggle of Faith to weigh and filter various thoughts from conversations under the sun, on another blessed day. Gracious Reading!
1. Like most citizens of developed nations plug into their credit system to access its priviledges, so also civilized citizens of Christ are those who access the power to live for others or like overcomers do; even by plugging into the economy of the Faith of the Son of God (2Cor. 5:14-15, Phil. 1:21, Gal. 2:20).
2. Nothing stands between our past and future like unbelief, and even after the workings of the mystery of Christ has been unveiled to us, unbelief will still show up, reason with us, and beg to be entertained like it did to Adam in Eden, to spiritually mature brethren like the Hebrew Church, and to our Lord Jesus while heading for the Cross (Heb. 3:12). So we need to also learn and understand the name/nature/mystery of the Father, and of God, to become fully immune to and overcome unbelief (Col. 2:2, Matt. 28:19).
3. Unbelief would always set in when you start taking thoughts for your life, or when, unlike our Lord Jesus, you seek/love your life rather than lose/sow it (Matt. 10:39/Jn. 12:25). Unbelief would proffer hands-on solutions on how you can keep or enjoy your life, rather than sow or invest it, and by so doing, help you disobey commandments of faith that were unveiled over decades while our Lord Jesus was receiving and carefully interpreting God’s righteousness (1Tim. 6:17-19).
4. It’s hardly a news when a stage one cancer patient is diagnosed and successfully treated, but it is a breaking news when a stage four cancer patient is successfully treated or supernaturally healed. In like manner, it is great news among men and before heaven, when a soul that previously loved the world and was loved by the world, ends up escaping it or being healed from the cancerous spread of corruption in his soul (Jn. 15:19, Isa. 4:2, Lk. 15:10, 2Pet. 1:4/2:20).
5. One of the best experiences our souls can have while on earth, is an exercise in the discipline of stillness or the possession of a meek and quiet spirit which enables us to fall asleep while the storms of life rages. The world has perfected many arrangements against this, such that, it keeps us always busy and prepared to fall short of experiencing the quiet resting of the Spirit of the Lord (1Pet. 3:4b, Isa. 32:15-18, 11:2, Mk. 4:37-38).
6. Without our reproaches being rolled away, we can neither become beautiful and glorious in the sight of the Lord, nor put on the new man, even Christ (Prov. 14:34, Isa. 4:1-2, 11:2-4, Eph. 4:22-24). So also, we can’t escape the corruption that wrote quite some chapters of our past life, except we entertain the ministrations of Spirits of the Lord that deals with man’s sinful nature, and also offers God’s righteous judgments to our soul (2Cor. 3:17-18).
7. The devil, as a mocker and an accuser, uses his corrupted wisdom like he did in Eden, to show us why God’s promises are but a mirage, what we could have done better had we known better, and how time is no more on our side, all to keep us living in condemnation of our past. But as we tenaciously press into the justification that comes through Christ’s Faith, we would be empowered to see through those veils and would overcome all his vain imaginations, voices, thoughts and touting. Amen (2Pet. 3:4, Ps. 62:9, Rom. 5:1).
8. For very many Christians, past chapters of their lives was written by their carnal nature, and remains a veil to the person or essence of Christ Jesus, and as such, never should have been their meditation. The devil shouldn’t also get us to meditate on even our past, present or forthcoming success, which we should be quick to put behind us so our souls would have enough resource to reach forth to those things ahead of us (Prov. 23:7a, Phil. 3:13).
9. As we are being purged of the things (of man) that make us judge according to the flesh, or according to the dictates of our natural eyes/ears, the Lord gradually empties us of our ability to respond in unbelief to God’s promises – so we can respond in fear and judge all things spiritually; even with righteous judgments (Isa. 11:2-4, 2Cor. 5:16). Christ is our wilderness through which God deals a deadly blow to the vast reserves of our confidence in the flesh, and adorns us with the things (riches) of God ( Eph. 4:20).
10. One subtle temptation before this generation of believers is that of being indifferent to the actual doctrine of Christ, or to an emphasis or activity of the Spirit upon the Church, or to what the Spirit is actually saying to the Churches, which is actually a demonstration of unbelief towards God’s workings in our day. This was how religiously accurate men limited the Lord Jesus from doing many mighty works, even through the ministry of teaching/unveiling righteousness. May we not repeat this unfortunate history or partake is such weighty sins. Amen (2Jn. 1:9, Lk 7:22, Jn. 9:39-41)
