Introduction To The Gospel That Belongs To Christ – Part 5

… An Appraisal of Powers FROM God & The Power OF God

Dearly Beloved,

There are POWERS FROM GOD and there is THE DIVINE POWER OF GOD, but extremely few believers till date have understood the difference between both, and this remains key to attaining our inheritance in God

Powers FROM God was used while making creation. Men of God in the old testament manifested it on various occasions, but the first man that experienced the Power OF God was Jesus, and he did so as he learnt the gospel of God (Rom. 1:1), he later inherited that Gospel through his uninterrupted walk of obedience, and that Gospel was later branded as his (Rom. 1:16).

  • Rom. 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation (i.e. to save) to everyone that believes (i.e. those who are already born again); to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

The next person after Jesus, that inherited the Gospel (God’s life) was Paul (Rom. 2:16), and it was through the light of the faith of that gospel that he ended up writing two-third of the New Testament. Simply put, the gospel is a storehouse where the revelations of Christ has been kept. Whenever these revelations are unveiled, God’s righteousness is dispensed and a believer would gradually begin to think like God does

Powers from God are always in manifestation when the gifts of the Spirit (1Cor. 12:4-9) are in operation. We saw this in the Old Testament era (except the gift of tongues and interpretation), and we saw it in a more refined manner in the New Testament. But it would take the Power of God to bless our souls with God’s nature which has been packaged as a gift called eternal life (Rom. 6:23)

Powers from God can produce purposeful material prosperity, raise the dead, feed multitudes in the wilderness. Angels can manifest (operate) this power, but none of such carnal manifestations of powers can bring a soul into a saved state (Rom. 1:16) or raise a soul above sin and death – so the church is in dire need of this power. The church needs to migrate from ministrations that introduce the gospel to the core aspect of the gospel where the light of Christ’s Faith and God’s Love must be learnt.

Adam was no stranger to the Powers that originated FROM God. By it, he was a governor of the entire earth, but he was called to seek the Power OF God which God warehoused in the tree of Life. The New Testament church is likewise called to seek, learn and teach the power of God which has now been warehoused in the tree of life – Christ Jesus.

So the manifestations of powers from God are interim provisions of God’s hands, available since the Old Testament era, operated primarily by angels and also by man. It advertises the actual power of God! Powers from God therefore is not the thrust of the gospel of God or of Christ. THE GOSPEL OF GOD IS ETERNALLY SUPERIOR TO AND IS DIFFERENT FROM EVERY OTHER POWER THAT GOD MANIFESTS THROUGH MEN IN THE NATURAL

If the power of God acts upon the laptop I am using to detail this inspired thought, it would become born of God and indestructible by anything in earth or the present heavens. Why? BECAUSE WHAT SOEVER IS BORN OF GOD’S POWER OVERCOMES THE WORLD (1Jn. 5:4)

  • 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. {i.e. the faith revealed in the New Testament, which is also the faith of the Son is born of God and therefore superior to this world/Satan}

The power of God acted upon and quickened our human spirit when we got born again, and birthed into it, the divine nature of God; making it immune to sin and death, Glory! If we can complete the course of learning the gospel (God’s divine power) via the revelations of Christ (knowing the secrets of God’s faith and love that He taught Jesus over decades), then our souls would be raised to the same state/status that our recreated human spirit is – raised to be seated with Christ in heavenly places. (Eph. 2:6/Rev. 3:21)

So it was the Power OF God that raised Jesus from the dead. That power is meant to gradually introduce resurrection life into our souls (i.e. raise our souls and make it compatible with the throne = Phil. 3:10-11/21) where doing God’s will becomes natural. Such is what the Gospel of Christ has primarily come to offer man (Eph. 1:3/Heb. 6:4-5), not what we have seen as the essence of faith i.e. deliverance, prosperity, healing, new birth, baptisms (Heb. 6:1-2). All these, like introduction to physics is actually different from physics, are the earthly/carnal provisions of the gospel and different from the gospel of Christ. The actual core of the gospel employs revelations of Christ to make us look exactly like Jesus!

Due to weakness over generations, hearts have only been able to relate with powers FROM God. Moses wasn’t satisfied with this (Exo. 33:18-19) and desired that God show him His glory (His Divine Nature/Power), but he couldn’t access  this because it was a provision that Jesus would later unlock to make us attain perfection (Heb. 11:39-40).

  • Exo. 11:39 And these all (including Moses), having obtained a good report (exploits of powers from God) through faith, received not the promise: God having provided some better thing (the Power OF God/Gospel of Christ) for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

Bless You!
